Everyone asks, what is Grandparents Day and when did it start? It’s a fairly new holiday, just coming around in the late 70’s. Congress passed the legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents’Day and, on August 3, 1978, then-President Jimmy Carter signed the proclamation. 15 other countries celebrate this day on different dates from us, countries include Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Sudan, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
