We have to say, we did not know until recently, there is actually a day set aside to celebrate coffee. Guess I should drink more and stop sleeping at the computer screen. We did some research on it (feeling just a little bit like idiots in the process), and here is what our boho chic crew at JadeCrate found.
The name “International Coffee Day” was first used by the Southern Food and Beverage Museum which called a press conference on October 3, 2009, to celebrate ‘International Coffee Day’ and to announce the first New Orleans Coffee Festival. International Coffee Day was promoted in China by the International Coffee Organization, and was first celebrated in 1997, and made into an annual celebration in early April 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Coffee_Day
I guess at this point, really, who cares. Here’s to coffee – grab a cup.
