The purest form of mindfulness is to breathe simply.
The caveat here with the exercise is to breathe with conscious effort. All those breaths have a purpose besides keeping your heart and brain going. We challenge you to start a 5 Mindful Breaths exercise you can do every day, before work, at work, after work, anywhere you like. Rules of engagement are you will use these five deep breaths of fresh air to think free and preferably concentrate on only the breathing. This exercise is particularly useful if you are feeling restless, anxious, angry, or stressed. Use the time to focus on only one thought or image. If necessary close your eyes and picture something that brings you peace, joy, makes you feel relaxed and hold on to it.
